Responsabilidades e atribuições
Tech Mahindra is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Desktop Engineer with a focus on leading large-scale Windows PC migration efforts that involve strategic planning and hands-on execution (migration process design, re-imaging, refresh, configuration, and user optimization).
Must be experts on planning & executing Win11 migration, resolving issues related to migration/upgrades, experience with Tanium/SCCM and other tools.
This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of desktop operating systems and migration troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
Windows Migration Projects:
- Plan, execute, and troubleshoot Windows migration projects (Windows 8 to 10, Windows 10 to 11), ensuring minimal disruption to end-user productivity.
- Design and Develop Migration Strategy: Create a comprehensive and scalable process for PC migration activities, considering security, performance, and end-user experience.
- Assess Current Environment: Conduct an analysis of the existing infrastructure, applications, user profiles, and dependencies to ensure a seamless migration plan.
- Develop and Document Migration Procedures: Establish clear, step-by-step processes for IT teams and end-users, including pre-migration readiness and execution.
- Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and end-user support teams to align migration processes with business needs.
- Pilot and Validate Migration Plan: Conduct test migrations to identify potential issues and refine the strategy before full deployment.
- Execute Large-Scale Migration: Lead and oversee the migration of over 500+ PC users, ensuring minimal disruption and compliance with IT policies.
- Evaluate PC State: lead the decision-making process on PC condition for re-imaging, refresh, configuration, or burn-down.
- Monitor and Optimize Performance: Track migration progress, address issues, and continuously optimize the migration approach to enhance efficiency.
- Lead the project planning for the migration of file-share Servers from an old environment to new environment, and work with users to communicate the change.
- Desktop Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide hands-on and remote technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
- Diagnose and resolve complex desktop issues, including operating system, application, and network connectivity problems.
- Manage and maintain desktop hardware and software inventory.
- Configure and deploy desktop images and software packages.
- Support peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, and medical equipment interfaces.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to date documentation of desktop configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Generate regular reports on desktop performance, incident resolution, and project progress.
- Utilize Excel for data analysis, reporting, and inventory management.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to end-users, both technical and non-technical.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues and implement new technologies.
- Effectively communicate technical information to various stakeholders.
- Provide clear updates on incident progress.
Compliance and Security:
- Adhere to healthcare industry regulations and security policies,
- Implement and maintain security best practices for desktop systems.
- Ensure all desktop systems are patched and up-to-date with security updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years’ experience as a Windows Engineer.
- Proven experience as a Desktop Engineer or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 8, 10, 11).
- Extensive experience with Windows migration projects.
- Proficiency in using Tanium for endpoint management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware and software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
